A New Way To Think About Failure

I was recently listening to a top business coach, and he said something about failure that I really loved. He said he tries to get his coaching clients to look at failure as “cycles”.

Basically, how he said it is every time an entrepreneur has a business that failed, it was just a typical “cycle” of the entrepreneur journey.

And what resonated with me is he said he doesn’t take any coaching clients until they have “cycled” at least twice.

I’ve never heard it been said like that.

I absolutely loved how he put it.

He didn’t say, “A prospective coaching client has to have 2 failed businesses and then I’ll work with them,”.

Instead, he said, “a prospective coaching client must have gone through at least two cycles before I consider working with them.”

He explained that he wants his clients to have already experienced some failure. He knows that if they’ve had two businesses fail and they are still at it, positive, upbeat, good attitude….then they have the X-Factor to achieve success.

So a good takeaway is understand that having a business that failed or is failing, It’s just a normal “cycle” of entrepreneurship. Get up. Dust off. Take the experience and skills with you to the next venture and keep “cycling” until it finally hits!

Stay Disciplined,

Jantz
